Privacy Policy

Illiqua helps you own a piece of an artwork, together with everyone else who owns the same piece. This policy explains in plain words what we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have.

Effective August 5, 2026. This is our first version and is under legal review.

What We Collect

We keep this list short on purpose. The information tied to your use of Illiqua is:

Wallet address, once you connect one through Xaman. An XRP Ledger address is public by nature.
Cell and certificate data: which cell number you hold, its NFT token ID, and its transaction history.
Email address, only if you choose to add one to your account, or if you use our contact form or waitlist.
Name and message, if you write to us through the contact form.
Basic technical data collected automatically by our hosting provider, like IP address and browser type, used to keep the site secure and working.

What We Do Not Collect

We built Illiqua to hold as little as possible about you.

No passwords. There's nothing to sign in with, your wallet is your identity.
No government ID, and no identity verification at this time.
No fiat payment information. Every purchase is made directly in XRP.
No advertising trackers, and no ad or behavior tracking.
No mobile app, so nothing collected through one.

Wallet And The Ledger

Certificates are minted as NFTs on the XRP Ledger, to your own wallet. Some of this is public and permanent, so it helps to know what that means.

Connecting your wallet through Xaman never gives us access to your funds or your private keys. We can't move anything on your behalf.
Your wallet address, and the transactions it makes, are public by nature. Anyone can view them on a public XRPL explorer.
The artwork image and certificate metadata are stored permanently on Arweave, a decentralized storage network. Once published there, it cannot be taken down, by us or anyone else.

Payments

Payments happen directly between wallets on the XRP Ledger.

Illiqua is non-custodial. We never hold your funds. You sign each payment yourself, in your own wallet.
The XRP Ledger is a public record, so transactions on it can be seen by anyone.

How Information Is Shared

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising. We share only what running Illiqua actually needs:

With Supabase, our database provider, based in the EU.
With Xaman, when you connect a wallet or sign a transaction.
With Arweave, when artwork or certificate data is published to permanent storage.
With Resend, our email provider, only for the emails you'd expect (contact replies, waitlist confirmations).

Keeping And Deleting Your Information

You have some control over your information, with one honest limit around the ledger.

You can ask us to remove your email address or contact form submission from our systems at any time.
NFTs on the XRP Ledger, and artwork or metadata published to Arweave, cannot be deleted. Permanence is built into both systems, so please treat anything minted or uploaded as public and lasting.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies, all functional, none for tracking or advertising:

beta_access— remembers that you've entered our beta password, so you're not asked again on every page.
wallet_session— remembers that you've connected a wallet, so your account page can show your holdings without asking you to reconnect every time.
admin_access — used internally by us to access administrative tools. Not relevant to regular visitors.

We don't use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any cookies that track you across other websites.

Security

A few design choices reduce what could go wrong.

Illiqua is non-custodial, so we never hold the keys to your funds.
We use encrypted connections (TLS) throughout the site.
Access to administrative systems is restricted and logged.

Children

Illiqua is intended only for individuals who are at least 18 years old.

Legal

Illiqua is operated by Backerston Labs UG (haftungsbeschränkt), an early-stage company based in Germany. We are still finalizing our full legal and regulatory review, including under EU crypto-asset regulation, and this policy will be updated as that work is completed.
